Sugaree’s  Bakery Baker – Entry Level

 

Position Description:

The Bakers learn to prep all recipes, work on the baking and icing lines, and wrap the products.  Shifts will be scheduled between 5:00 am and 6:00 pm.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Must be a dependable professional with a positive attitude and excellent work ethic!
  • Must be able to work quickly and efficiently.
  • A Culinary Degree is a huge plus.
  • Must be a self motivated fast learner with intense attention to detail and quality.
  • Must be eager to learn and willing to take direction.
  • Must have good math skills, and a basic knowledge of fractions, conversions, and measuring instruments, including wet and dry measuring tools and scales.
  • Must be able to work unsupervised while multi-tasking, prioritizing and meeting production deadlines.
  • Must have good communication skills and work well in team environment.
  • Must embrace change and have an improvement and growth focus.

 

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Learn all steps in the baking process
  • Prepare batters and dough for baking
  • Prepare icings and ice cakes
  • Load and unload ovens
  • Work in freezer when needed
  • Wrap and store products
  • Clean up station and equipment

 

Primary Objectives:

  • Prepare products according to recipes
  • Complete recipes within the goal times
  • Maintain superior quality and produce uniform products
  • Load and unload ovens according to time tables
  • Insure proper wrapping and storage
  • Promote safety and a clean working environment.

 

Physical Demands:

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to stand and walk for 8 hours a day.  Employee must be able to lift 35 lbs.  Employee is required to reach with arms and hands, stoop, kneel, and crouch.

 

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, heat from ovens or stoves, extreme cold in freezer, sharp objects, and cleaning products.

Sugaree’s Bakery Retail Manager

 

 

Position Description:

Establish, train and enforce exceptional customer service guidelines for the company.  Promote and maintain a high level of employee morale and motivation. Track retail sales metrics and set goals for improvement.  Merchandise the retail space and manage waste.  The hours are 9:00 – 5:00 Tuesday – Saturday (with some flexibility on Saturdays.)

Major Areas of Responsibility:

·         Provide Quality Control at the retail level.

·         Provide exceptional customer service for all customers (walk in customers, retail telephone phone calls, mail order telephone calls, wholesale telephone calls, wholesale customers picking up here, etc)

·         Open and close the retail area daily.

·         Learn all management functions on the QuickBooks Point of Sale system.

·         Keep retail area impeccably clean.

·         Train, manage and motivate retail employees daily.

·         Track retail sales metrics (to be determined: items per ticket, average ticket price, average tickets per day of the week, etc.)  and create plans and set goals to improve those metrics.

·         Merchandise the retail space and track sales results associated with merchandising.

·         Set daily sales goals and communicate those with retail employees.

·         Establish a reward and recognition program for retail employees achieving set goals.

·         Monitor and enforce policy and procedure adherence of retail employees (use of employee tabs, dress code, bakery phone usage, visitors, cell phone usage, jewelry, break time, efficient use of time, etc).

·         Manage discount freezer with pricing adjustments and in-store promotions. Ensure that retail case stock levels are appropriate for the season – change as needed to reduce waste.

·         Ensure that all retail products are fully stocked at all times and rotated properly.

·         Update POS with price changes and new items as needed.

·         Learn to produce several daily retail recipes accurately and consistently.

·         Motivate retail team members to actively sell and recognize and reward their results.

·         Clearly define and consistently communicate all procedures and customer service standards with all retail staff.
